Originating exclusively from Tanzania, the gemstone's rarity is as remarkable as its beauty. Tanzanite, a recent addition to the world of precious gemstones, showcases an intensity of color that harmoniously aligns with the surrounding halo of approximately 4.50 total carats of diamonds in various cuts, including round, marquis and pear-shaped, all set in 18K white gold.

Discovered in the hills of Mount Kilimanjaro in 1967, tanzanite was initially mistaken for a variant of sapphire. However, upon closer examination, it revealed a more intricate and unique composition. The gemstone was named "Tanzanite" by Henry B. Platt, then president and chairman of Tiffany & Co., at the 1968 World's Fair. There, its extraordinary blue-violet brilliance captured the admiration of attendees. While many tanzanites possess a lighter violet shade, specimens exhibiting a deep, blue hue, such as this one, are especially sought after for their unparalleled beauty and value.
