Our Story
Established 1923
Today, under the stewardship of 2nd generation owner Katie Phillips, our family business operates across two continents sourcing rare treasures from the sun baked Outback to the ateliers of Europe, placing them into both private collections and public institutions alike. Our 30,000-square-foot Sydney showroom showcases a carefully curated selection of works ranging from early Australian masters to European Old World rarities. Among our highlights are landscape watercolours by Albert Namatjira, modernist paintings by Sidney Nolan, European porcelain from Sèvres, 19th-century Chinese export dinnerware, and hand carved English Chippendale furniture.
Our jewellery boutique continues the Phillips tradition of excellence, offering only the finest gemstones and bespoke designer pieces. Katie’s team of gemologists painstakingly sources everything from vivid Australian opals and South Sea pearls to Colombian emeralds and Burmese rubies. Whether you’re seeking an heirloom quality necklace or a show stopping one-off diamond, our collection speaks to a century-long commitment to quality, provenance, and craftsmanship.
Each year, our gallery organises museum quality exhibitions in Sydney and Melbourne, as well as at marquee events like the Melbourne Art Fair and Sydney Opera House Cultural Markets. These curated presentations not only celebrate the rich heritage of the decorative arts but also expand our global network of dealers, conservators, and collectors enabling our specialists to uncover the most sought after works on the international stage.
